This round of the Let's grow together community garden initiative is now closed. We're currently reviewing applications and will be in touch with the successful school by Friday 14 March 2025.
Wellington, we need your help! Nominate your local school to become one of our community garden partners. A selected school will receive everything they need to build, plant and grow a veggie garden on their school grounds.
Anyone can nominate a Wellington primary or intermediate school. Simply use the Grow Together nomination form from Monday 3 February and get those green thumbs tapping!

What's in a garden?
Community gardens don’t just grow veggies—they also create organic waste that can break down naturally to produce biogas. By supporting school gardens, we’re helping communities learn about biogas and how it can become renewable energy for our homes.
